If you use Lightroom to organise and edit your photos, the chances are you will also use Presets. Presets not only allow you to get instant results but also allow you to instantly try your photo in different styles such as Black & White, Sepia, Punchy Colours, Cross Processed, Vignettes etc. In fact the possibilities are almost endless and they are all accessed at the click of a mouse. It's no wonder therefore that Presets are incredibly popular with both professional and amateur photographers alike. Following the success of my Black & White Presets I have also produced a new set of Presets which create a wide range of Split Tone effects.
So what is Split Tone? Whereas a Black & White photograph is the absence of all colour effectively leaving highlights as white and low lights as black split tone replaces black and white with two different colours so that, for example highlights may appear a shade of yellow with low lights taking on a blue/grey look. Such toning can often have a huge impact on a photo and often a photo that doesn't work in colour or black & white will work brilliantly in split tone.
The biggest problem with creating Split Tone photographs is choosing colours that work together. As a general rule of thumb colours that work best together are at opposite sides of a colour wheel, roughly 180 degrees apart. The other problem is that whilst you may choose two colours that work well together, due to the way split toning works, they may simply not work on your particular photograph due to the colours that are already present in it. The end result is that, unless you are very experienced, you have to try lots of different combinations of colours to see which ones work with your photo and give the result you were after. This is where Presets come in. I have produced 12 different Split Tone Presets using a range of colours to suit a wide range of photographs (based on their existing colour content), with these presets you can instantly try different colour combinations to see which ones best suit your particular photograph. You can buy all 12 of these presets from my Store for just £5. The presets are:

Installing The Presets
Installing my presets couldn't be simpler. When you complete the checkout process you will receive the presets via e-mail shortly afterwards. Simply unzip the file that I send you to a temporary location somewhere and start up Lightroom.
In the Develop Module look to the Navigator panel on the left of the window. Scroll down this panel until you see a section called User Presets.
Right Click either on the User Preset Folder or on any existing User Preset you may have and select Import... as per the screen grab here.
Now simply browse to the location where you unzipped my presets, select all the presets and click on Import.
That's it!
Lightroom will now copy all of these presets to the correct location so you can safely delete the unzipped ones if you wish but make sure that you keep the zip file somewhere safe in case you ever have to reinstall them.
How To Buy
